Lawyer Business Cards
Business cards? Oh sure, you have those…somewhere. Well, actually you only have a few left and you’ve been meaning to get them printed again, but you’re not sure you even like them. Stop right there! Before you go get the next batch printed, you need to understand the importance of your business card. Remember, your business cards are more than just a way for people to contact you. They’re a powerful marketing tool—and don’t underestimate their advantages!
Since you’re always on the go, make sure you always have a set of business cards with you. They’re a great way to network with everyone you come into contact with—whether it’s someone you just met or acquaintances. Your business cards are representing you and your firm, and you want to make sure that the content they contain are conveying two things: number one, that you are a professional lawyer and number two that you are successful at what you do.
I don’t like my current business cards—how do I change the look and content?
First, you should contact a professional graphic designer—preferably someone who has had experience creating business cards for other lawyers. To get some ideas, look to other successful lawyers with lots of clientele—perhaps they wouldn’t mind referring you to the person who helped create their business cards.
When you meet with the designer, you should explain what the message is you want to send to people. Once you are settled on a design you like, you should explore color options. Colors leave quite an impact and you want to make sure you choose a palette that works with your business. Next, your business card should include your firm’s logo and tagline. If you don’t have one, or, if you don’t like the one you currently have, discuss this with the designer.
Finally, your business card should clearly indicate your contact information. If you have a website, direct people to visit you online so that they can receive more information.
You should include as much contact information as required to make it easy for anyone to find you.
